Maintenance Do's and Don'ts...

DO change your oil at recommended intervals.   For most NEW engines, this means changing it for
the first time after the first 5-10 hours of operation.  For most homeowner equipment, at LEAST
once a year or every 50 hours.  See your engine owner's manual!

DO check your oil level and condition, ideally every time before you start a machine.  If it looks really
black or tar-like, change the oil as soon as possible.

DO use fresh fuel (gasoline starts to go stale within a few weeks!) or at the very least use a good
fuel stabilizer, especially if the equipment may sit unused for a month or more.   (generators, pumps,
etc...even mowers when stored over the winter.)  Sta-Bil is a popular brand and works well.  Follow
the instructions on the bottle!!

For 2-cycle engines, some premium mix oils (i.e., Husqvarna) have fuel stabilizer in them already.
ALSO, Husqvarna recommends at LEAST 89 octance fuel for their 2-cycle engines.

DO clean or replace your air filters in a timely manner...the one on the left is quite choked with fine dust...
this could be part of the reason the chain saw is now toast!

DO recognize that mice can get into just about anything...they can cause
problems from chewed and shorted wiring or hoses to building extensive nests
and causing engine overheating...
